Maybe the ‘th’ sound because of the pronunciation of the words with ‘th’ requires contraction of the tongue and the teeth which is somewhat difficult.

I’m Catalan Speaker (spoken by 20% of the people of Kingdom of Spain), so I have some advantage and the s and z sounds come very naturally. However , I have some problems when I have to pronounce “w” in words like womb, would, and th in the middle of some words as worthy.
It’s curious to see how the Castilian speakers (Spanish) have a lot of problems to pronounce: s, z, v, w, a, open o, and so forth and this is because the Castilian has a  very simple phonemes.

For me, the most difficult sound is the “th”. I can pronounce it if I pronounce slowly, but in a conversation I can’t speak it fastly.

    Hi
I  think the    p  sound is a bit challenging for me.

  • Vennessa Chiu

Yeah Its easy to pronounce the s and z sounds, but for me I’m not that good in pronouncing the ‘th’ sound, like for example, the word ‘myth’ and other word that ends with ‘th” for me was so challenging to pronounce.. But I think if I practice more and more, I can develop more my pronounciation and make it perfect. Goodluck to me :) ))

    • Lorynd

Hi, Vennessa! I like your answer and I notice we think alike. Good luck with your pronounciation improving! It is my goal too. Want to be a conversation partner? Email me at lorynd@hotmail.com.

You are right: the z and s sounds are a piece of cake to me… However, the ‘th’ sound is a pain especially when it comes to ordinal numbers like seventh, tenth, nineteenth… :-)
Talking about goals, I would like to come as close as possible to a native speaker. I know that it is a real challenge but ‘practice makes perfection’ someone said once.
